this is very sad. It was the nicest toy store ever.

I agree! They had such a great collection of toys. I had planned to go there today to purchase a very unique nightlight for a friends birthday, but it appears I will have to come up with something else. :(

Please accept my condolences on the passing of one of the owners. You are special people, and I loved the experience of shopping with you. It was there I met Valerie Tripp, author of American Girls' Molly books, at a book signing.

Whoever made the 18" doll clothes displayed by the door, I wish I could find you in the future. This was my local source for Tiny Betsy McCall clothing packs as well, yet I have other sources for those. Thank You for all the good times, Karen in Arlington, VA.

This is SO sad! I am a Playmobil collector and it seems that you had an extensive selection but now I guess I'll never know. :(

I hope you look at your time in business as a wonderful thing, that brought happiness to you and the people of Vienna for a very long time.

I am so sad you are gone. I was a resident of Vienna for 30 years and shopped there often - a delightful store. Had hoped to visit again on my travels north.

I have just found this blog and though extremely belated I have to say the memories "Once Upon a Time" conjures up are ones if childlike exhuberant excitement and joy. I bought most of my miniature house items from this shop for my little girl when we lived in Fairfax back in 1991/96. I have fond memories of the shop which I seriously contemplated reinventing in the uk. I became a teacher instead but kept the doll house and shop, model horses and stable plus far too many accessories. This shop had everything and I had a love affair with it. Thank you to the incredible creative owners who obviously never forgot what being a child was al about. Your memory lives on.
